Remarkable Jobs are working with a new client who are a market leading organisation based in Central London, who are now recruiting a ‘Head of Publishing’ to lead on all aspects of our clients publishing department.

In this role the successful candidate will be managing the client’s technical publications portfolio alongside developing relationships with key publishers and provide operational oversight and support for the delivery of content.

 

‘Head of Publishing’ Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the successful delivery of all publishing projects to help the company achieve its goals and targets.
  • Lead and manage the external publishing management programme to ensure timelines and objectives are met.
  • Work with technical teams to ensure publications are developed to support key products and create supporting documentation and guidance based on customer feedback.
  • Devise and implement publishing and business plans in line with company strategy.
  • Manage and develop the operational publishing plan.
  • Managing the annual publishing budget, budget setting, communication and the development of publishing partnerships and reporting.
  • Identify, develop and manage relationships with third party publishers and suppliers.
  • Working with an IT Team to manage any digital platform improvements to improve the customer experience.

 

‘Head of Publishing’ Knowledge, Experience and Technical Skills required:

  • Experienced in Scientific, Technical and Medical (STM) publishing (preferable)
  • Experience working with information management platforms and ecommerce platforms.
  • Possess a relevant degree or post-graduate qualification.
  • Experience and knowledge of the processes involved in production, publishing, print and digital distribution of content.
  • Possess an excellent level of knowledge of the English language, grammar and spelling.
  • Experience and management of XML, Metadata and HTML.
  • Possess strong writing skills, with experience of copywriting and proofreading.
  • Be an excellent communicator who can communicate and liaise effectively with suppliers and partners.
