Interim Role – Project Officer – Design Services

SE London – Wandsworth

£20.81 per hour – Contract Minimum 2 months

Our public sector client is working with us to source an interim Project Officer to look after the Design Services area. The role is office based and will be working in South East London. The role is an interim role covering a permanent vacancy.

The role is to work full time 36 hours per week. It is anticipated that this role will last for a minimum of two months. Hours to be worked are 9-5.30 with one hour for lunch.

The role will be looking after professional staff in these areas:

Design, including Landscape Architecture

Surveying, including Quantity Surveying

Electrical Services

Mechanical Services

They will also be responsible for:

budget management, forecasting, analysis and reporting on financial areas in their remit/projects.

Preparation of Contract Documents, contractors and making appropiate research based recommendations to the business

Public facing and external liaison

• Ensuring proper response to Member’s enquiries.

• Represents the Council at Public Meetings and with external organisations.

Organises and prepares exhibitions, press/publicity releases and production of media information within their responsible service area and as directed by the Business Manager

Ideal candidates will have:

Proven experience in design contract and administration as applied to a wide range of public buildings and H&S

Sound working knowledge of JCT contract legislation standards as applied to buildings and H&S

Worked preparing tenders and bids

Worked closely with other disciplines to include refurbishment, remodelling, extension and new build schemes

Controlled and managed their own project budgets

AUTO CAD skills as well as being confident MS Office users particularly Excel.

A professional qualification.

Good communication skills

An understanding of working within a fee-earning organisation.
