They work with public and private sector clients to develop efficient and sustainable transport solutions that improve mobility, reduce congestion, and enhance transport infrastructure.
We are seeking a Transport Planner to join their team in Surrey (KT1). This is a technical and analytical role, ideal for Geography graduates and professionals with up to 3-5 years of experience in transport planning, urban studies, or infrastructure development. The successful candidate will play a key role in analysing and improving transport networks, urban mobility, and infrastructure planning-this is not a logistics or supply chain role.
Transport Planner Role:
As a Transport Planner, you will be part of a collaborative team working on real-world transport infrastructure projects. Your work will focus on data analysis, transport modelling, and GIS mapping, supporting the development of strategic transport solutions for both public and private sector clients.
Transport Planner Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse transport and traffic data to support infrastructure planning and policy decisions.
- Use Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and other planning tools to map and assess transport networks.
- Assist in the development of sustainable transport strategies and policies.
- Support transport modelling, demand forecasting, and infrastructure planning.
- Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and recommendations for clients and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with engineers, planners, and policymakers to deliver effective transport solutions.
What They Are Looking For:
Essential:
- A degree in Geography, Transport Planning, Urban Studies, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Exposure to GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) for mapping and spatial analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Interest in transport systems, infrastructure planning, and urban mobility.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Desirable:
- Proficiency in transport modelling software (e.g., LinSig, SATURN, PTV Visum).
- Experience in highway planning, public transport analysis, or transport policy development.
- 3-5 years of experience in transport planning or a related infrastructure role (for experienced candidates).
