Location: Salisbury, Wiltshire

Salary: Circa £55,000 – £60,000 DOE

Remarkable Jobs are recruiting for a Software Engineer specialising in Digital Signal Processing (DSP) to join an established R&D team in Salisbury.

This is a hands-on embedded software role, developing firmware that runs on SHARC DSP processors within high-end audio products. You’ll work from early concepts and prototypes through to developing the software that controls the DSP and processes audio signals.

The role

  • Develop real-time embedded software for DSP applications

     

  • Develop and implement DSP algorithms and audio processing

     

  • Prototype processing components in MATLAB, then implement them in C

     

  • Write drivers for DSP and PCB peripherals

     

  • Work with DAC/ADC and digital audio circuitry

     

  • Bring up and debug new prototype PCBs

     

  • Work closely with firmware, electronics and acoustics engineers

     

  • Use oscilloscopes, logic analysers and audio test equipment

     

  • Take part in peer code reviews

     

What we’re looking for

  • Minimum 3 years’ commercial C/C++ experience

     

  • Strong real-time embedded software experience

     

  • Experience with DSP / signal processing applications

     

  • Audio DSP knowledge would be highly beneficial

     

  • Experience with filter design, FFT, sample rate conversion or dynamic range control

     

  • Analog Devices SHARC experience would be a big advantage

     

  • Familiarity with electronics and hardware debugging

     

  • Degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or a similar engineering discipline

     

  • Git, Jira and Agile experience beneficial
