Remarkable Jobs are recruiting on behalf of our client, a trusted supplier and repair specialist of power tools, small plant, and light machinery for the construction and trade industries.
We are seeking a Small Tool Fitter to join their busy and well-equipped workshop in Mitcham. This is a practical and technical role that would suit someone mechanically minded, with strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach.
Small Tool Fitter Role:
As a Small Tool Fitter, you will be responsible for the repair, servicing, and maintenance of a wide range of small tools and equipment commonly used across construction and trade sectors. You will play a key role in ensuring tools are functioning safely and efficiently before they are hired or returned to customers.
Small Tool Fitter Key Responsibilities:

Inspect, service, and repair power tools such as grinders, drills, saws, and other small equipment.

Diagnose faults and replace or repair mechanical and electrical components to ensure equipment safety and performance.

Carry out pre-delivery inspections on hire tools.

Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment.

Manage stock levels for parts and consumables.

Liaise with team members to ensure timely completion of repairs and customer satisfaction.
What They Are Looking For:
Essential:

Minimum 2 years’ experience in small tool or equipment repair.

Strong mechanical and/or electrical repair skills.

Hands-on experience with power tools and small machinery.

Ability to troubleshoot independently and write accurate service reports.

High attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Desirable:

Previous experience in a tool hire, plant hire, or construction-related business.
