Location: Home-based, covering Oxford to Birmingham
Salary: depending on relevant experience circa £40k-£60k

This is a full-time, permanent position requiring travel across the South of England, with occasional overnight stays.

Remarkable Jobs are recruiting on behalf of a leading organisation seeking a Health & Safety Consultant to join their dynamic Risk Management team. This is a client-facing role focused on providing high-quality consultancy services across multiple sectors


Health & Safety Consultant Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver health and safety consultancy services within an agreed scope and timeline for each client.
  • Produce and review essential documents such as risk assessments, safe systems of work, method statements, and policies.
  • Conduct site audits, inspections, and accident investigations, assisting with legal defence preparation if necessary.
  • Apply knowledge of RIDDOR and manage online health and safety management systems (e.g., xCenta).
  • Provide technical support to clients and colleagues.
  • Represent the company and its clients during interactions with enforcing authorities and insurance companies.
  • Conduct specialised assessments (noise, hand-arm vibration, safe air testing) — training will be provided where necessary.

Health & Safety Consultant Experience and Qualifications:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum), with a willingness to work towards Level 6 NVQ Diploma (or equivalent).
  • Proven record of CPD and in-depth understanding of current health and safety legislation.
  • Strong report-writing and organisational skills, with attention to detail.
  • Full, clean UK driving licence and access to own car (car allowance provided).

Health & Safety Consultant Desirable Experience/Qualifications:

  • DSEAR compliance knowledge.
  • Fire Risk Assessment (Level 3).
  • Noise and hand-arm vibration assessments.
