Remarkable Jobs are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing organisation based in Blackburn.

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join their finance team on a permanent basis. This is a hands-on role overseeing all financial activities, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and strong commercial insight to support business growth.

Financial Controller Role:

As a Financial Controller, you will take ownership of day-to-day accounting, month-end, budgeting, and reporting. You’ll lead the finance function, streamline processes, and provide key financial data to senior leadership for informed decision-making.

Financial Controller Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily finance operations, including purchase/sales ledger, bank reconciliations, and payroll
• Produce monthly management accounts, year-end statements, and statutory reporting
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow management
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
• Manage audits and liaise with external accountants
• Analyse financial performance and provide commercial insight
• Improve financial processes and systems for efficiency
• Oversee and mentor a small finance team (if applicable)

What They Are Looking For:

Essential:

• Proven experience in a Financial Controller or Senior Finance role
• Proficiency with Sage
• Excellent Excel and reporting skills
• Previous experience within a commercial, multi-million turnover organisation
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and month-end experience
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and strong communication skills

Desirable:

• Part-qualified or fully qualified (ACCA / CIMA / ACA)
• Experience improving or implementing financial systems
• Background in manufacturing or a similar commercial environment
