Remarkable Jobs are recruiting on behalf of a leading joinery subcontractor specializing in commercial fit-out projects. Known for their commitment to quality and on-time delivery, their clients are predominantly based in the Central Belt of Scotland.

Estimator Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and client-focused Estimator to join their team. This role is integral to the success of their projects, involving site visits, measuring, and working directly with clients to deliver accurate and competitive pricing for joinery and fit-out works. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction estimating and be confident presenting proposals to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for joinery and fit-out projects.
  • Conducting site visits to measure, assess project requirements, and gather essential details.
  • Collaborating with clients to understand their needs and provide professional advice.
  • Presenting estimates and proposals to clients in a clear and professional manner.
  • Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to obtain pricing and clarify project specifications.
  • Producing detailed bills of quantities and take-offs for material and labour requirements.
  • Assisting with tender submissions and providing support during contract negotiations.
  • Monitoring market trends and material costs to ensure competitive pricing.

What They Are Looking For:

Essential:

  • Proven experience in estimating within the construction or joinery industry.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and stakeholders.
  • Comfortable conducting site visits and taking measurements.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in using estimating software and MS Office applications.

Desirable:

  • A degree or relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Experience working with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Full UK working rights and ideally a UK driving licence.
