Earlier this month the Chancellor of the Exchequer delivered his Spring Budget to the House of Commons, laying out his fiscal plans for the next financial year. Within this plan, the Chancellor pledged almost £3.5 billion to support the government’s ambitions to make the UK a scientific and technologic superpower. The funding announced will support the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology. 🧪 🧬
The Chancellor’s funding commitment will be crucial to achieving the framework’s objectives of supporting innovative science and technology start-ups throughout the UK, increasing investment in research and development, and creating a pro-innovation culture across the public sector in the UK to enhance public services.
