A new ONS statistics report shows that part-time workers and self-employed workers were responsible for the UK employment rate’s small uptick to 75.8%. This represents a marginal increase of 0.2% compared to the three-month period spanning from September to November 2022, for the months of December 2022 to February 2023.

According to the ONS report, the North-East region experienced the most significant growth in employment rate compared to the same period last year, with an impressive increase of 2.9%. On the other hand, the West Midlands and Wales witnessed the most substantial declines in employment rate, both experiencing a decrease of 1.8%.
